I AM UNAFRAID
FOR GOD DID NOT GIVE ME A SPIRIT OF FEAR; BUT OF POWER, LOVE, AND A SOUND MIND
2 TIMOTHY 1:7
Antonette (16)
I have been brought up with the Word of God and I am not ashamed of speaking my faith or the Word of God in any situation. God truly has not given me a spirit of fear. If fear tries to come at me, I rise up in faith and stand strong in His power and keep moving forward. I use a sound mind, common sense and the Holy Spirit to make decisions on who to speak to, where to go, and what to say. My love for God wraps all of these things together.
Deonte (13)
We should not be afraid of speaking and sharing God’s Word with others because that fear is not from God. The spirit within us has all the power we need to get the message out. The love God has poured in us gives us the ability to talk to anyone no matter what race or religion they are. A sound mind helps us to discern when and how to speak God’s Word to someone. A sound mind in combination with the power of love is all we need to get the Word out to the lost.
Anastasia (age 9)
You should not be afraid of anything because God is always with you and He has given you the power inside you to not be afraid of anything. He did give you the power to love and that is the greatest power of all. He also gave you a sound mind and that means you have peace inside your mind all the time.
Joseph (age 7)
I am not afraid of the dark and I am not afraid of scary things. Faith is my power to stay healthy and strong and brave. Love is what I have for my family and Jesus. A sound mind means I am smart, powerful, and brave just like Jesus, and that’s what God gave me.

I AM VICTORIOUS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.
1 CORINTHIANS 15:57
Stand and say this with me, “I AM VICTORIOUS through Jesus Christ. I am because the ‘I AM’ says that I AM!”
Gaining the victory in any situation is not always an easy thing to do. To be victorious you have to face some sort of opposition. There has to be some kind of battle, confrontation, or trial. Victory comes when we hold on to God’s Word and never give in to the thoughts of defeat. Victory comes when we trust that what Jesus did on the cross was for our victory. No matter what the outcome may be--we win--we have the victory in Jesus.
Many years ago I had a friend who faced a debilitating illness. He was contending with it according to his faith and I knew he was on his way to healing according to God’s Word. I stood in faith, with my friend, for a complete restorative healing.
A turn of events came along and his condition worsened. I clung to the Word of God expecting a miracle and for my friend. I fully expected victory over death. I did not want my friend to die. I prayed, believed and watched God’s hand move on my friend’s body and then he would worsen again. I continued in prayer and would encourage my friend by reminding him that nothing was impossible for God and to just hold on a little longer -- victory is on it way.
Finally, I came to the point of realization....my friend and I had differing ideas on what the VICTORY should be. His idea of victory was to be with Jesus. I began to pray in agreement with his desires.
My friend got what he believed for and in doing so he gained the victory.
I struggled for a moment wondering how this outcome could be a victory.
But the peace I felt when he passed on from this world to the next was so great that it was undeniable that his victory was sure.
That evening, after all was said and done, I returned home from the hospital to tell my children of our friends passing. One of my children came to with the most unexpected words of surprise. She stood in front of me with a smile and full of unexplainable excitement and said, “Mommy, so you mean he is with Jesus, right now? You mean, right this very minute, he is face to face with JESUS? He is really standing in front of Jesus while we are talking?”
I had to step back and try to comprehend what she was talking about....it was her faith talking...the faith of a child....she knew that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. She knew that there are many victories but to be with JESUS is the greatest victory anyone could ever want. My child knew this because I had taught her these truths from the Word of God and she believed.
It is in the battle, face to face with the opposition, that we are tempted more than ever to believe less than what God’s Word says. It is then that the faith of a child -- our faith -- will bring us back to where we first believed. We then comprehend that we have the victory in Jesus Christ no matter what we are facing and no matter the outcome—we win!
We win because the ‘I AM’ says so.
Stand and say this with me, “I AM VICTORIOUS through Jesus Christ. I am because the ‘I AM’ says that I AM!”
The Bible says:
- 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Luke 1:37 For nothing is impossible with God.
- Mark 10:27Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."
- 2Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
- John 11:40Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”
